How often does a child’s foot grow?

A child’s foot growth is sporadic. It does not grow constantly.

Children’s shoes should be checked minimally as follows:

  • Age 12-18 months – every 2 months
  • Age 18-30 months – every 3 months
  • Age 2 ½ – 4 years – every 4 months
  • Age 4- 6 years – every 6 months

Also, since children grow in spurts, their feet should be checked every time a growth spurt occurs.
